Types of behaviors in animals
Behaviour is divided into two main types
1)Innate Behaviour
2)Learning Behaviour
Innate behaviour:
The collection of responses predetermined by the inheritance of specific nerve or cytoplasmic pathways (Unicellular) in organisms is called innate behaviour.
- These organisms have built -in- pathways so a given stimulus produces the same response in all cases. This behaviour pattern develops and refines over many selected generations. The adaptations of this behaviour depends on the survival of species such behaviour does not need higher center of the nervous system. Therefore , it produces economy in the nerve pathways within multicellular organisms.

Orientation:
The type of behaviour concern with the day to day movement of an organism. Orientation has two types:
1.kineses:
It is a behaviour in which an organism changes the speed of random movements which helps them to survive in an environment
For example: Behaviour enables the pillpugs to reach the moist area. Moist area is necessary for their life.
2.Taxes:
The directed movement of an organism is called taxis. It may be positive taxis or negative.
Reflexes and instincts:
These are extremely complex behaviour. It includes biological rhythms. Territorial behaviour , courtship , mating , aggression , altruism , social hierarchies and social organizations.
- Learning behaviour:
The change of behaviour by life experiences is called learning. Thorpe defines learning in his words: The process which manifest itself by adaptive changes in individual behaviour.
