Differences between Tilde and Accent

Accent

The accent can be graphic, in this case, it is a writing sign that is placed on the vowels. It can be diacritical, in which case the accent is used to differentiate the meaning of the same word.

An accent can also be lexical, that is, the articulation of the voice to highlight a syllable with respect to the others and their variables. We also find the tonal accent, a very relevant subtype of the lexical accent.

The accent is also a rhythmic device used in poetry. For music, the accent is a sign that indicates that a note has to be interpreted with greater intensity.

Accent mark

It is known as a graphic accent and it is a sign that is placed on the vowels in Spanish following the rules of accentuation of the Spanish language.

For Romance languages, this type of accent can be diacritical, that is, to differentiate the meaning and use of the same words.

In other languages ​​the accent can vary, it can be acute, circumflex, or serious. Depending on the language, each type of accent corresponds to a type of vowel.
